Move-In Guide

Letter from the Director

Dear Parents and Families,

At Central State University, we recognize the important role a vibrant and engaging residence life experience plays in your student's overall growth and development. As the Housing Selection process for the 2020-2021 academic year approaches, we want to keep you apprised of available housing locations, key dates, and deadlines, and why living in college housing offers students an unparalleled residential experience.

The Housing Selection Process for the 2021-2022 academic year will open in late March. Relevant details will be available to students on the Housing Selection information site on the Student Portal.

Each student wishing to participate in the Housing Lottery must complete HYB Process by ensuring that they are registered for the upcoming term with 12 or more credit hours, have met Financial/Enrollment Clearance, and have completed the online housing application prior to April 1, 2021. Priority will be given based on students who have completed the HYB Process in its entirety, met enrollment clearance, and the date on which they have completed their Housing Application.

Please note: Any student who does not fulfill all three criteria by the stated deadlines will be placed on the non-guaranteed wait-list for housing, and will not be eligible to participate in the priority Housing Selection.

All students must remain financially and academically cleared through the start of the fall 2021 semester, in order to retain their intended housing assignment. In order to move in the residence halls for fall 2021, all students must be financially and academically cleared. Students who are not financially cleared will forfeit their intended room assignment and will need to reapply for housing once financial and academic clearance is obtained. We will be offering a number of information sessions about the Housing Selection Process in March and April. Dates, times, and locations of these sessions will be advertised within the residence halls, on the events calendar, and through the Student Portal.

If you or your students have any questions or concerns about the housing selection process, feel free to contact the Office of Residence Life at 937-376-6386 or via email at residencelife@centralstate.edu.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Mr. Justyn R. Fry
