Message from the Dean

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

These words were spoken by Howard Thurman, former mentor to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dean of the Chapel at Howard University and Boston University, and alum of our fellow HBCU Morehouse, hold profound significance as you journey through these formative years at Central State and find and pursue what makes you come alive.

It is my pleasure and privilege to serve as the new Dean of Students at my beloved alma mater, Central State University. The Division of Student Affairs is a special place where students explore and deepen their passions, where staff and faculty challenge students to be critical thinkers and engaged citizens, and where students participate in activities outside of the classroom to develop their full potential.  I encourage you to take full advantage of our unique community of scholars and professionals during your time here, and to embrace all opportunities inside the classroom and out that will support you on your journey to fulfill your promise and ultimately discover what makes you come alive!

Please feel free to contact me or any member of my staff if we can be of service. Our number one priority is to serve and support students and to make the student experience at Central State one of the best in the country.
