The transition from high school to college can be a difficult adjustment for any student! Consider learning more about vocational rehabilitation services, which may help support a smoother transition to the college experience.
Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Vocational rehabilitation (VR) is for individuals with all types of disabilities and services are designed to help individuals gain skills needed to get and keep a job that can advance any career outlook, in addition to transitioning to independent living on and off campus. Every state has a VR agency and students must apply and qualify for VR services. Once qualified, an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) is created to ensure that goals are met and support is provided.
How To Access
Whether you are from Ohio or not, you can access VR services through the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) as a student at Central State University! Once you have enrolled at Central State, contact the ADA Compliance Coordinator on campus or the area liaison representative to learn more about job coaching support, assistive technology resources, career services, networking, tuition assistance and more!
